My Projects

Raising Skilled Readers - Institute of Reading Development

About the Project:

This project involved designing an online learning community for the Institute of Reading Development. The client needed a two-tier community (free and paid) that would not only provide valuable content but also guide users toward premium offerings. My role was to create engaging, structured learning experiences, ensuring the content was digestible, action-oriented, and seamlessly integrated into the platform.

What I Did:

✔️ Developed curriculum maps + Project Roadmap outlining key learning objectives, progression paths, and engagement strategies.
✔️ Created structured mini-courses that provided quick wins for parents while strategically leading into premium content.
✔️ Designed downloadable resources (reading logs, book lists, comprehension guides) to complement course content and enhance user experience.
✔️ Built an engagement strategy with discussion prompts, weekly polls, and challenges to keep parents actively learning.
✔️ Built advanced courses for the paid tier, ensuring they were deep, structured, and results-driven.
✔️ Developed a content release schedule to maintain a consistent flow of valuable materials without overwhelming users.

Results:

A structured, scalable learning experience that makes it easy for customers to engage with content at their own pace.
Strategic content layering that nurtures users from free resources into premium course offerings.
High-value learning materials that encourage consistent participation and build user trust.

High School, Asynchronous Spanish Courses - Acceleration Academies/Edincites

About the Project: The project was to design comprehensive asynchronous high school Spanish courses that were engaging for young learners while allowing them to achieve their high school diplomas.

What I Did:

✔️Created interactive and engaging lesson content that supported progressive language acquisition and enhanced cultural awareness.

✔️Developed activities and checkpoint assessments using Articulate Storyline and Canva.

✔️ Used Universal Design for Learning framework to tailor content to meet diverse learner needs.

✔️ Crafted formal assessments to accurately measure student progress and understanding.

Deliverables: Spanish I, II, and III courses, each including four units of work, assessments for each lesson, midterm assessments and final assessments.

Results: These courses are now used in all Spanish classrooms across eighteen high schools in Cobb County, Georgia. They're also utilized by students at Acceleration Academies in the same county—a program where students unable to attend mainstream school can complete their high school courses online at their own pace. These courses are helping thousands of students earn their high school diplomas.
